CITATOR · L2-J-V
Know if a precedent is still good law. Before you cite it.
KeyCite or Shepard's equivalent for every jurisdiction we cover. Validity status, citation graph and treatment timeline — activated under Premium contract.
THE PROBLEM
Citing a precedent that no court still follows is among the costliest mistakes in litigation.
Case law evolves. Criteria shift. Courts reconsider. Without validity tracking, knowing which precedent is still good law requires hours of cross-reading per citation — and a single missed overruling can flip an entire argument.
The US solved this thirty years ago with KeyCite and Shepard's. Most of the rest of the world never had a meaningful equivalent. Nexus Citator closes that gap — same model, every jurisdiction we cover.
FIVE STATES, ONE BADGE
The validity status travels with every citation.
Good law
No later court has contradicted it. Cite with confidence.
Distinguished
Later judgments narrow it on different facts. Still valid in its original scenario.
Overruled
A later court of the same level or higher changed the criterion. Shows which judgment and from when.
Statute repealed
The underlying statute no longer exists. Cross-checked automatically against the in-force corpus (Layer N).
Unknown
Insufficient signal. When LLM confidence is low we publish "unknown" instead of inventing a status.
Click any badge for the citation graph (who cites it, in what sense), the treatment timeline (chronological evolution) and a direct link to the overruling judgment when applicable.
EVIDENCE TRAY
How it looks while you draft.
Every L2-J citation in an analysis or in the editor surfaces its badge automatically. This is a synthetic illustration — not a screenshot — but the layout matches what the partner sees.

Public REST API
Five endpoints for partner integrations: /validity · /citations · /cited-by · /timeline · /coverage.
Audit trail
A new lock level — L2-J-V — records validity-verified citations alongside the existing L1 / L2-J / L4-N seals.
COVERAGE · SAME MODEL EVERYWHERE
Every supported jurisdiction. Premium activation, identical lead time.
Citator follows the same architectural pattern as the in-force statute corpus. The rails are deployed for every jurisdiction we support; the activation of a specific country's citation graph happens under a Premium contract. Spain's CENDOJ pipeline is sized at ~141,000 judgments and serves as the reference for cost and timeline of any other jurisdiction (US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, etc.).
31 jurisdictions on the rails. The ingestion playbook is repeatable: top courts first, full hierarchy second. Both tiers carry committed lead times below.
/jurisdictions →SKUs
Two tiers. Per contracted jurisdiction.
When the contract is signed, the requested jurisdiction is queued and the team runs the ingestion pipeline. Both lead times are defended by an internally sized and verified pipeline.
Citator Essentials
Top courts of the contracted jurisdiction (e.g. Supreme Court + Constitutional Court in Spain, SCOTUS + Federal Circuits in the US, Supreme Court + Court of Appeal in the UK).
5 business days
Citator Pro
Full court hierarchy of the contracted jurisdiction (e.g. CENDOJ-complete in Spain, federal + state in the US, full court system in any country).
10 business days
Once active, judgments are processed in background and a daily cron refreshes validity status for new rulings as courts publish them.
ROADMAP · HONEST
What is live. What is in flight.
- Multi-jurisdiction architecture (rails on all 31 supported jurisdictions)
- Ingestion pipeline sized and verified on the Spanish CENDOJ corpus (~141,000 judgments)
- Validity badge model with five states + confidence threshold for the "unknown" badge
- L2-J-V audit lock specification ready for the engine
- Per-client activation queue and contractual lead-time commitments (5-day Essentials / 10-day Pro)
- Cross-reference with the in-force statute corpus to detect ⚫ statute-repealed automatically
- API documentation + partner SDK methods (publishing under embargo until first signed activation)
Why we publish "unknown" instead of guessing.
Every validity decision carries an LLM confidence score (0-1). When confidence is below the threshold the system marks the citation as ⚪ unknown rather than producing a status that cannot be defended. Transparency is the feature; perfect inference is not the claim.

Talk to the team. We will scope the jurisdiction, confirm the SKU (Essentials or Pro) and start the activation clock on contract signature. Lead time is defended; price is engagement-scaled.
